Notice is hereby given that the West Hanover Township will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 6:30 PM at the West Hanover Township Municipal Building at 7171 Allentown Boulevard, Harrisburg, PA 17112 to discuss the following:

MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) fee for implementation of the storm water regulations within the Township.

The Stormwater MS4 program is mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources (DEP).  The Stormwater MS4 program is designed to prevent stormwater runoff and erosion from polluting waterways within the Township and the Chesapeake Bay.   To prevent storm water runoff from impervious coverages on a property requires stormwater facilities for downspouts from roof runoff, sheet flow of water from driveways and other surfaced areas.  Other means of stormwater control are BMP’s (best management practices), retention ponds, detention ponds and rain barrels.  The Township must oversee the program by inspecting the maintenance of existing storm water facilities, constructing storm water projects and meet all reporting and permitting requirements mandated by EPA and DEP.
